Commissioning a Painting

Commissioning a painting should feel collaborative, enjoyable, and exciting

Here’s what you can expect when we work together:

1. Initial Consultation

We begin with a focused consultation about your project, the feeling you want the space to have, the size, location, and budget. This consultation is offered for a $100 fee, which ensures a dedicated and thoughtful conversation and is applied toward your commission should you choose to move forward.

2. Color Direction & Digital Mockups

Following the consultation, we’ll refine color, mood, and overall direction. If you provide well-lit photographs of your space along with wall dimensions, I’ll create digital mockups using existing paintings so you can visualize scale, placement, and color direction before I begin.

3. Proposal & Retainer

Once we finalize the concept, size, timeline, and investment, I’ll prepare a commission agreement. A 50% retainer (inclusive of your consultation fee) reserves your place on my studio schedule, with the remaining balance due upon completion before delivery.

4. The Painting Process

I create an original painting inspired by our conversations while allowing the work to evolve naturally through my intuitive process. Every piece is one of a kind and created specifically for your space.

5. Review & Refinement

When the painting is complete, I’ll send professional photographs for your review. Your commission includes up to two minor rounds of refinements to ensure the painting fulfills our shared vision while honoring the integrity of the creative process.

6. Delivery

Your finished artwork is professionally packaged and shipped, or personally delivered when possible, ready to become part of your home or project for years to come.

Creating artwork for a space before it exists is one of the greatest joys of my work. My goal is to make the process as thoughtful and enjoyable as the finished painting itself.
